Power

So the other night I was bored and in a bad mood. I came across an artist by the name of Maura Holden and really fell in like. It's not really my style but I figured I needed to tone it down a little after the last post but hey, I still really like them.

I'm not sure if this is what she intended to do but i get kind of like a middle eastern vibe from these pictures. They also look like powerful females, which I love. I love when women are dipicted in art, they're so beautiful. But the colors and the way she makes the pictures look 3D is what really wows me. I feel as though I could almost touch it.

WTF??!

So I literally just discovered this artist by the name of Olivier de Sagazan and I am very intrigued yet creeped out by his sculptures.

Don't get me wrong, like I've said before, I love the creepy stuff. These sculptures are amazing to me, and if I tried to understand what was going through his head, I would most likely vomit. I can't wrap my head around such feelings.

So these sculptures make me think this man is incredibly talented and without a doubt warped (in a good way) but after I saw this video..

I feel sick, like my stomach is being given an indian burn. How did this man come up with that performance? too amazing for me, I think i can only watch it once. I'm sure to a lot of people this won't look like art but to me, it's good old chaos.

Long time no see

Sorryyyyyyy I haven't posted anything in a while, when I came back from my city trip, I had to do some college shopping. Unfortunately I didn't get to explore as much as I would've liked to while I was down there so no new pictures. :(

Anyway, I would just like to vent on how disturbed I feel by Dan Ouellettes' art.

First off, let me explain what I mean by "disturbed". These pictures are not things you see often, someone getting raped by demonic looking small people, someone with a vagina as a mouth. I for one am definitely not use to seeing these images and they intrigue me. They make me want to put them all over my walls and just look at them for hours, try to understand them and analyze them. I like art like this because it keeps you thinking, you never know if you really have the right definition of it. This is how all art should be, if you figure it out, what makes it interesting?

Breathe of fresh air

So today I'm finally leaving to go on my mini vacation to the city. It'll be nice to get away from everything for a little while before I go off to school. I just feel like I need to get my head right and realize what I have and what I need. Things get complicated in the world and I don't like complicated. If only the world was as easy as it is for Joe Surrens characters in his paintings.

These paintings make me feel relaxed, like not everything in the world is evil. It makes me want to hug a cloud or smile at the sun. They let me know that things will get better.

Not so TV shows

So I'm pretty sure I just came across the cutest things everr. An artist by the name of Mark Ryden has these art shows and paints the most innocent looking, double meaning paintings I've seen so far.

The Snow Yak Show

The Tree Show

I love searching for something new and coming across the most interesting things. When I see pictures like this, I wonder to myself, what was going through his head? What inspired him to create this? What do these pictures mean to him?
I'm actually not really sure what these pictures mean to me either but they definitely catch my eye and make me realize how different everyone sees the world. It's a beautiful thing if you really think about it.

Bit of color

I'm usually into the creepy, boggle your mind surreal art but when i came across an artist by the name of Alexandra Pacula, she changed everything.

"My work investigates a world of visual intoxication; it captures moments of enchantment, which are associated with urban nightlife. I am fascinated by the ambiance of the city at night and its seductive qualities. The breathtaking turbulence of speeding vehicles and hasty pedestrians evoke feelings of wonder and disorientation. The vibrant lights become a magical landscape with enticing opportunities and promises of fulfillment."

Personally, I'm in love. :)

Feelings

I just spent a wonderful day with my handsome love companion so i'm kind of feeling like Chet Zars' Bliss and Joy right now..

I think Chet Zars' paintings are adorable. Sure some might not agree but it isn't always about the outside look, these are monsters with emotion just dripping off of them. Honestly, to me, they're beautiful. I can only hope to glow the same way they do.

Sometimes I feel kind of crazy talking about art like they're real, living things, but they touch me in places where I take them seriously. The emotion and feelings that come out of artists' work just leaves me in awe. I wish I had the type of talent they do. I want to touch people and inspire people some day, I don't think there could be a better feeling to feel at the end of the day.
